IT BEGINS THE TOUR OF ANEPROMA DAYS
The National Association of companies of timber protection, ANEPROMA, the past 2 December held the first conference "CURRENT STATUS AND PERSPECTIVES OF THE PROTECTION OF WOOD IN CONSTRUCTION" to answer the current questions that exist about the use of wood in construction and the need to use treated wood in them.
The action that ANEPROMA has launched is part of an initiative developed by the working group 3 of the same Association, whose objective is the information and training of the agents involved in wood construction, from the Administration itself to architects, quantity surveyors, engineers and companies of the sectorr.
ANEPROMA has planned the realization of a set of technical conferences throughout the Spanish geography through the celebration of a day per Autonomous Community in order to facilitate the regional administration itself and prescribers of the area the assistance to them.
The first day has been held in the Autonomous Community of Asturias in collaboration with the Forestry and Wood Technology Center of Asturias, had the inauguration of D. Juan Majada, Director of the Technology Center, D. Pedro Gil manager of HOYPAGIL and D. José Miguel Solís Secretary General of ANEPROMA. The day was given by experts D. Manuel Touza and D. Andrés Dieste who were able to explain to the attendees topics such as wood: xylophagous properties and organisms, regulation and decision-making in the chemical protection of wood, protection by constructive design, examples of works and new technologies in protection: modified wood.
The day was used to also explain the future lines that will follow the protection of wood talking about a very high technology such as nanotechnology, highlighting the degree of development and research that exists around wood.
During the day, all attendees were provided with the book of Applicator of Wood Protectors, made and edited by ANEPROMA.
It is expected that the next Technical Conference will be held by the end of January 2010 in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country and thus continue during the 2010 for the rest of Spain.
The President of ANEPROMA, Benoit Jobbé-Duval "this is one of the most important tasks that entrepreneurs must carry out the approach of information to the Administrations through the set of experts that exist in our country facilitating the knowledge of the material, and above all, the need to know that wood is an excellent construction material but its preventive treatment must be foreseen for its commissioning like the rest of the materials, achieving a material with a very high durability against any alteration. In addition, there are currently techniques and protectors that allow any exposure, and that are in continuous development"".
