The publication of this new review leads to the substitution of the Norm UNE-EN 599-1:2009.
Reportedly this standard sets for each of the kinds of use, defined in the UNE-EN 335, biological trials required to evaluate the efficacy of protective products used in the preventive treatment of solid wood, as well as minimum ageing tests required according to the kinds of use. It also provides the method of calculation of the critical value of a protector.
This standard among other affects the relevance to all protectors that are applied in liquid form for the preventive treatment of wood, not affecting the applied paste products, gaseous, in solid state, in capsules or similar.
